No she didn't; she said that she would let him go. Now, we can assume she means that she has the authority, but all the same, all she was was that if he can beat her, she'll let him go.

After what? She's already made it clear she is not to be trusted, so obviously beating her is just to get permission to start doing all of the other stuff she wants him to do, and once all of that is done, then he can go.

We must remember this always: There are two kinds of women in manga. Avoid them both.

I typically don't like fantasy manga where the main character is already the strongest from the beginning, but this one doesn't irk me as much. I guess it's because his backstory and design aren't the typical self-insert, and also he's genuinely humble and kind (unlike certain MCs that have all the female cast falling for them due to being "kind" when they are just showing basic human decency). Also, such a showing is expected from a guy whose power level is "protagonist after the end of his story" vs a mage from Earth, where magic is much less prevalent.

I'm assuming she meant she was planning on releasing him from jail, I doubt the organization would ever let him walk free without a license. He'll probably join the others in their special student group as a means to earn his freedom and lend his power to the organization.
