As I understand it, it's due to plagiarism by the author which naturally caused a scandal.

I hope so (◞ ‸ ◟ㆀ) I actually sort of like the premise of this~ I hope in some way they'll be able to continue it, like redoing them in they're own way this time, but I feel like that's already a lot of work of in itself. It might even give a bad taste for the readers or even the artist itself Q-Q )

I didn't know about the issue since I was just patiently waiting. All I know is that someone pointed out the similarities of some of the illustrated panels from Meshinuma which lead to the cancellation.
