Because they made the rule, same with how every genderbent characters magically have their hair length adjusted to what's considered appropriate by japanese culture. Yes, i know the entire premise is magical, but having long hair is not an inherent female trait and thus shouldn't appear if the only thing that changed is their gender and biological characteristics.

In this case it's much more simpler. I mean, you lost your job and your family, fell into despair then the guy barge in your door, console you, getting your shit together and hook you up with a job. You must've felt something towards the guy even if you ain't gay. Or turned into a loli for this matter. Not speaking from experience or anything haha...
