@TheFiller I wouldn't say dumb, but I think both the fleet admiral and TL Crow are broken and should be removed from their positions. No commanding officer worthy of the name would refuse help offered in good faith when it is abundantly clear to even the lowest ranks that they are being forced into a suicide mission by superiors who care nothing for their lives.

The problem is they can't trust MC. I mean one of them did almost kill him in the beginning too. Plus they are being supported by his enemy. They call for help and that support disappears. It really sucks for them because the way they see it, they can't win either way.
Hell, this mission is probably their Hail Mary.

@Trov You make a decent point, but consider: One of the devils you know is likely untrustworthy (Beiyang fleet). The other is DEFINITIVELY untrustworthy (Ditu and dragon slayer alliance, with their political backstabbing and blatant disregard for Crow's fleet). Choosing to spend everything you have in a Hail Mary to attempt to please the latter and spite the former is something that no CO worthy of the rank would do. If you seriously consider both options to be equally intolerable, break off your affiliations and sell your services as a mercenary. Hundreds of millions of soldiers, both singly and in groups, have done exactly that throughout history.

Again, not calling them stupid, but the fact that the admiral and Crow are going all in like this because "Fuck it, YOLO" is the best plan they can come up with is an indication that they are broken and unfit for service IMO.

@ninjadork well for one, Beiyang is a rival fleet along with Kunlun, so it makes sense that they would try to do something big like Beiyang capturing Insect Planet so 3-Legged Crow can prosper and not rely on the "support" from the likes of Ditu and the Dragon Slayer Alliance.

Second, they don't trust anyone aside from their blood sisters, outsiders would be considered an enemy until they've shed blood together and swear a blood oath.

Third, Mass Media and critics are abundantly against Beiyang, and with Cake sending Dragon Empress to pressure 3-Legged Crow with a "cooperation" contract, they think the contract is just a ruse for Beiyang to cut off their head.

not only will they lose help of the latter, they will also lose morality support of "some" of the masses.

remember, aligning with Mu is pretty much being outcast on the common society, which is HEAVY downside on those world. remember DSA control the media and still a lot of the universe don't aproove of them.

Also, the Three legged's Admiral actually trust and admire Mu, as she at least once re-offer her position of Fleet Admiral to MU (if i not wrong, before the meeting of energy conference) which already being a controversy.

Also there is PRIDE things, which is still a huge things.
