Is there a way to get a title noticed by a scanlation group?

I came across a really beautiful drawn series on Lezhin's Korean website, and was wondering how to get scanlation groups to check it out. I couldn't find it on Lezhin's English version.

I think it's called Well Moon in English; author/artist is ChaJiAn.

I find it so odd that Lezhin, Webtoons, etc, don't translate titles that are doing extremely well in Korea 😭

If you have enough money to throw around, you could always try commissions, thought even that may not guarantee anything.

In all seriousness (and from what I know), the best way is to join specific scan group's discords and suggest this series there. Chance of pickup is higher if that specific group has done that another of that genres of series using raws from lezhin.

You could also pick up the series yourself and see if some group becomes interested if you know Korean?

Why aren't these beautiful stories getting translated?
1. Korean translators are rare. Korean translators who are willing to translate historical (is this historical? dunno) are even rarer.
2. Since Lezhin has already translated some of their manhwas into English, some groups decide to just not mess with Lezhin.
3. If it's popular in Korea, it's probably going to get an official English translation sooner or later.

Yeah, IIRC Lezhin especially has a history of being particularly aggressive in legal takedowns of their work. They seem to be quite protective.

But otherwise, seconding fluffays. You just kinda gotta ask around. Find groups that work on similar projects and ask if they would consider it.

If you have any skill whatsoever in google translate/ms paint, you can try and do a single chapter yourself and upload it in a "please pick this up" kind of way. I did that for Teen Mom, just plugged and chugged from a language I don't know a word of into google translate, slapped it on the page, and uploaded it here to MD to drum up interest. I'm still technically working on it myself, but I was able to gather the interest of a random translator and then a random typesetter so together we make a somewhat proper team lol.

@justforthelulz - thank you for the suggestion! I had no idea commission work was a thing.

@fluffays + @gomichandesu - makes total sense. I did notice that many Lezhin manhwas were untouched (or dropped). I guess I'll just wait it out and stick with google translate for now.

I appreciate the responses!

I Made An MD Page For It https://mangadex.org/title/61819/well-moon
I Also Found The Authors Blog https://m.blog.naver.com/PostList.nhn?blogId=by_jian&currentPage=3
And An Official Chinese Translation https://www.kuaikanmanhua.com/web/topic/6245/

Also, If You Want It To Get Noticed, Go To https://mangadex.org/thread/36705 And Someone Might Pick It Up (I Sometimes Check Here)
I Would Also Suggest Giving It An Interesting Description To Draw In Potential Translators

@orangegoat72 - Omg, thank you for making the page! I really tried to look for the Chinese translations, but I guess it didn't recognize the exact google translation of it.
