Is there option to hide chapters by Official Publisher from Latest Updates?

Yep, had to block 'em.

I am not spending the time or effort to have to sift through that absolute flood of uploads clogging up the feed to drown out the niche things I'm following.

The reason Barto set a bot to do it every minute or so is not known (well, I know he likes to automatise things, but that's beside the point), but if they dumped those five digit chapter links all at once anyone would have 100 pages of useless latest updates. I know they want to have as much as they can, but doing this kind of "analogue" changes eight years late (same for romanisation stuff, for one) would mean death in any serious business.
Even 1000 pages of updates in a single surge would be preferable (imho) to a constant flood of a smaller number, since it would be a much much smaller segment of uploaded chapters that get lost in the shuffle. Consider: say 100 chapters are uploaded in a single day at a constant rate, in parallel to 1000 outlinks at a proportional 10x rate. The 10x rate means almost every regular upload will get lost in the shuffle almost immediately as most users (that are not constantly checking) will not want to have page through a dozen updates pages every couple of hours. Compare that to a single surge of those same 1000 outlinks over a course of an hour: only the small 3-4 uploaded in that course of an hour will be lost in the shuffle, while the remaining 23 hours of the day will be business as usual. And users could be forewarned that a surge is incoming.

And if it's not technically feasible to do all 40k in a single shot, then weekly or even just daily would do. I wasn't around for the days of Solo Leveling but it sounds like users were more or less accustomed to regularly scheduled disruptions.

I'm not saying this course is preferable to invisible outlinking but if we are sticking to the current rate without it, I believe single surging would be better from a user experience and keep site traffic stable during the next month. We're only a couple days in but I wouldn't be surprised if there has already been a demonstrable drop in site traffic. And the longer this surge lasts, the more permanent that drop will become.

I didn't say I prefered it to be spammed in a longer spawn of time, I just tried to infer why may be doing it this way. In fact, it's a complete waste of time when they can just add the "Official English" link to the entire chapter list or something similar that doesn't require a bot uploading them on release. I've always blocked "uploaders" or groups who only added links because it's pointless for a manga reading site to offer reading options elsewhere that require a different account, independently if they're "free" or not. Unless they start getting something in return for this service they're offering, they're shooting on their on feet.

Aside from the uselessness of these links, they break the reading experience.

For example here:
https://mangadex.org/title/010a8606-ab4f-4e3e-82ce-17f19b02f262/happy-sugar-life

Chapter 27 has been split in three parts by the publisher.
So the bot added no publisher link entry to ch. 27 but instead created new chapters under 27.1 27.2 and 27.3
If you try to get from 27 to 28 in the reader you have to skip 3 publisher link chapters now.

This happenes with other publishers titles and chapters as well

EDIT:
See https://mangadex.org/guidelines#chapter_release_guidelines

2.2.2
Chapters may only be split into parts if the source material was also split in the same way. Chapters that have been split up by the translators for any other reason may be recombined into singular whole chapters.

I got the books of happy sugar life in my bookshelf and checked. None of these chapters have been split.

As previously by staff, the Official Publishers "groups" are not users and therefore not subject to the content policy. Same with the TOS and Community Guidelines.

Less relevant, but trying to find a loophole in the TOS or applicable policies will never be a productive expedition. Site operators are under no obligation to make or maintain a consistent experience for any user.
See also Sections 1.3 (regarding updates to the TOS), 19.1-2 (regarding the right to modify the site or content at MD's discretion), 22 (regarding errors on the site and corrections) and 28.2 (regarding non-waiver of enforcement rights) of the TOS.
Re:chapter splitting, as official publishers they are probably considered "source material". This would mean a TL group would be able to do the same split now (but defer to a staff response on the subject). I agree that it's going to be highly disruptive to the reading experience as the reader hasn't handled multiple/blocked groups well in the past.

You got a point there. Thought it was worth a try though.

But still the split chapters are cluttering the chapter list and disrupt the reading.

I really would have prefered not to block the publishers but right now i have no other choice.
And that seems to be counterproductive to the original intention of this.

I see no point in uploading all the links especially if those are not free to read on the publishers page.
Imo there should be one link to the title page of the manga on kmanga, manga up, etc. Instead.

Splitting a digital chapter into multiple "chapters" to increase the price per actual chapter isn't "source material", it's just baldfaced scamming, and posting "chapters" here in the same way is either stupid or lazy on the part of MD.

It's no different than when a Japanese publisher does the same. Is it a bad experience for a consumer? Absolutely. Is it official? Also absolutely.

Unless the original work as it was published had chapters of the same length (and wouldn't be "split" tbh, it would just be... shorter chapters), splitting the chapters to multiple entries on a pay per chapter service is just fraud.

Nobody's arguing nowadays industry is a fraud, they're just telling you the publishers themselves (Japanese ones too) choose to split chapters on release. MangoDex respects this as long as they're the rightholders, while punishes scanlators who paywall them. The problem when blocking groups is that the reader doesn't skip chapters uploaded by them, so if the website reading order redirects you to them it becomes troublesome.

Exactly. I blocked the publishers and the reader still takes me to these "chapters".

To get from ch27 to ch28 of happy sugar life i have to skip through 27.1 27.2 and 27.3 of the publisher links in the reader.

This needs to be handled differently.

These "chapters" also count in the reading limit of not logged in users.
