The problem is the consequences aren't only affecting him, but the whole Kingdom.

I'm not saying the guy should cheat, I think explaining to his wife that he will see other people, but keep their relationship as is for the public would have been better, but just saying "he should divorce and live with the consequences" is pretty naïve considering his circonstances.

If we’re going by real life relationship rules, the princess and our MC don’t seem all that sexually compatible, which would be okay if they could communicate regularly and work out a compromise, but for one reason or another the princess refuses to do that. That sucks and is a real burden on any relationship, and while that’s not a justification for cheating that kind of stress will manifest itself somehow.

Basically the wife needs to pick up the slack on her end the relationship, though at this point though MC is going to look like the guilty party no matter what, might as well dick down the warrior milf.
