Step-sister would mean she is the child of either the mother or father who married MC's mother or father making only one of the parents biologically the parent of MC.

Since both parents are the biological parents of MC, half-sister is also wrong since neither of the parents are the biological parent of the sister so don't use half-sister in case you were thinking of it haha.

Just use "foster sister" (meaning a girl brought up with another child of different parents) or "adopted sister".

Also page one should be "clinic"

To be fair...Japanese does have exact phrases for in-laws, step- and adoptive relations. But my understanding is that colloquially people just use the shortened version of Giri-no- (giri-no-Mai becomes Gimai) and leave the rest to context. Maybe the important part for them is to stress that they are not blood related.

addendum: I just remembered the concept of Giri (as in the chocolate). So maybe they are paying more attention to the fact that despite the lack of blood relations, they are duty-bound to the relationship.
