@Hoezell the idea of punishment is incredibly loose and encompasses everything that can bring discomfort and/or loss of any degree so rape theoretically is also a possible punishhment. For example, bukkake originally was a punishment for adultery in some regions of Japan.

And I would argue that confinement is a really weird way to narrow the range of punishments, since the only thing it does accomplish is isolation as opposed to rehabilitation and/or inspiring fear of it for repeated offenders.
