Then I think it's working as intended. Making a one-off strong character to hype up an upcomming baddie is a well-worn trope, but to make that character likeable enough to make the hype effective is where the authors skill comes in.

Man... this series is BRUTAL.

This level of violence isn't rare in many stories, but the framing... makes me remember the Chimera Ant arc from HxH... the casual brutality with how people were killed, the feeling of hopelessness against a being that is simply... superior.

..... Oh well, rip demon lord, as soon as the cute murder hobo finds her this will become a crime scene.
