Have to agree with those raising the question about Mc's juvenile
(yes, even if he's a teenager) statements on topics that should have considerably more depth to them. The premise is supposedly MC spoke things into this world that were significantly well thought out and revolutionary that it made him famous without his knowledge. However, each time the author shows the MC supposedly doing so, it's all juvenile, not-well-thought-out one or two liner logic without any consideration for the variables around such topics. Yes, the story is light hearted for those readying their fingers to type that at me, but as I always say in these situations, blame the author for injected not-so-light-hearted topics in a light hearted story and then choosing to gloss over them and not handle them well because that obviously wasn't the point of the story. Yes, those of us raising the issue are more than aware it's obviously the author's fault and that's generally the point of ranting out our criticism in the forum about it.
I gave a pass on the "Slavery is bad. Stop it," because that's usual for manga, manwha, and manhau set in European-esque fantasy worlds. I got annoyed with the "Prostitution is like every other job" implication. I ignored the lack of consideration for the possibility the Demons killed a lot of people in an attempt to conquer. Even in the previous chapter the Demon Queen admitted she was seeking to destroy such a peaceful place at one time. But "Demons and Humans are just the same" and somehow that changed her? As I said, I ignored it because, it's once again, the usual weak positioning on a heavy issue you find in these types of stories. But now this? Now "Assassins
and by extension Assassinations are cool because video games and rogue-types in fantasy fiction from my previous world
[insert more than likely our real-world Earth equivalent] are cool.
" All while being told assassins exist in that world and thus kill people
AND assassins/hitmen exist in real life
(his world, our world) and kill people. Both are wrong. None of these proclamations and pontifications by MC make it believable that all of these people, keep in mind it's not just the main female character, but all of these people are becoming overwhelmingly enamored by him. To the degree they're willing to murder people who just bad mouth him.
Sure, it's a fun story. Sure, it invokes some chuckles. Sure, it kills a little boredom, but I have to agree with
@ARealCoolGuy and
@Eighty-six among others about the criticism. It would be so much better if the author put some thought into MC's proclamations during his podcasts and the overall worldbuilding. It doesn't have to be Socrates level or Plato level of philosophizing, but it can be more than one or two line nothing statements. I mean, why hasn't anyone thought up any of this stuff long before MC put it to words on magic radio? I mean, it would be perfectly fine for the author to write out a situation where one or two of the characters were already advocating for that but became enamored with MC for also thinking that and airing it out for more to hear. Even in our world there were abolitionists before abolition, there were advocates for worker rights before Unions
(regardless of your political feelings about those), etc. etc. Many of the ideas, philosophy, political positions, etc. we take for granted today were birthed ages ago in yesteryears in Middle Age times and before that.
Always amazes me when manga, manwha, and manhua write about Middle Age as if they were totally stupid and devoid of any type of forward thinking about their situation.
