I don't see why everyone is calling him dense. To him, they are just children he has to take care of.
He just doesn't really care about them outside of those parameters . They're a means to an end, that end being returning home.

I'm sure as it goes on, if it goes on for that long, he'll slowly start to soften up to them and eventually come to love and cherish his- what was it? 10 girls he has to raise?

You don't know what Dense is.
Dense is when you don't notice something that should be obvious right in front of you.
He just doesn't give a fuck about dating children, and immature clingy women who one of the first things they say to you is that they want to marry you.
His standards are higher than all of you extremely thirsty people out there who are ready to jump on this first woman to open themselves to you romantically.
This manga sadly isn't good enough to warrant waiting for the chapter releases though, even If I want to defend the guy.
Not that it's bad mind you, it's just not good ENOUGH to make me wait for 1 chapter every 2-3 months or so.
