BTW: I talked to AvidSis about how she had trouble with Pg 26 (where she put in the TL/N about getting lost with what they here saying).

Now, I don't know Japanese very well. HOWEVER. I do aspire to be a novelist someday, and that means I need to be really motherfucking good with my wordsmithing.

So with a bit of help from DeepL and this wonderful Translation Aggregator (https://github.com/Translation-Aggregator/Translation-Aggregator) I was able to suss something out. (And yes, suss is an actual word that means to infer, discover; firgure. Wordsmith, remember? ;) )

What's going on here is that Shou is talking about how Falco is the type of person to not argue with people once they've made their stance clear. And Lyra is the type of person who doesn't want to be bothered with lengthy discussions. Probably why she gets along so well with Dredd - he's obviously a man of very few words.

Where Shou is saying "But you know, Lyra, saying it once and be understood is better than saying it a hundred times." is technically a correct translation, it doesn't quite get the point across in the context of the rest of the discussion.

Instead, it should read more like, "But for Lyra, it's easier for you to be heard once instead of talking over the issue."

Hope this helps you guys out as much as it helped AvidSis.

There is an old expression that says holding on to anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die. I see many of the commenters just want Lyra to be punished rather than thinking about how good it would be for Leon if their relationship was repaired. It isn't about what she did wrong, that is in the past. What's most important now is what she can do now to make it right, to heal Leon's pain. If Leon forgives her it isn't about her "getting away with it". It's about Leon being able to move on and become more whole.
I'm more mad because this smells like inconsistent characterization, like the author wants to put in drama but didnt think things through

I grew up with similar parents, but even they didnt steal all my money. That's where I think Lyra crossed the line.

Would you believe me if I told you that I felt worse for the slime that got nuked than I do for the mom?
