BTW: I talked to AvidSis about how she had trouble with Pg 26 (where she put in the TL/N about getting lost with what they here saying).

Now, I don't know Japanese very well. HOWEVER. I do aspire to be a novelist someday, and that means I need to be really motherfucking good with my wordsmithing.

So with a bit of help from DeepL and this wonderful Translation Aggregator (https://github.com/Translation-Aggregator/Translation-Aggregator) I was able to suss something out. (And yes, suss is an actual word that means to infer, discover; firgure. Wordsmith, remember? ;) )

What's going on here is that Shou is talking about how Falco is the type of person to not argue with people once they've made their stance clear. And Lyra is the type of person who doesn't want to be bothered with lengthy discussions. Probably why she gets along so well with Dredd - he's obviously a man of very few words.

Where Shou is saying "But you know, Lyra, saying it once and be understood is better than saying it a hundred times." is technically a correct translation, it doesn't quite get the point across in the context of the rest of the discussion.

Instead, it should read more like, "But for Lyra, it's easier for you to be heard once instead of talking over the issue."

Hope this helps you guys out as much as it helped AvidSis.

There is an old expression that says holding on to anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die. I see many of the commenters just want Lyra to be punished rather than thinking about how good it would be for Leon if their relationship was repaired. It isn't about what she did wrong, that is in the past. What's most important now is what she can do now to make it right, to heal Leon's pain. If Leon forgives her it isn't about her "getting away with it". It's about Leon being able to move on and become more whole.
I'm more mad because this smells like inconsistent characterization, like the author wants to put in drama but didnt think things through

I grew up with similar parents, but even they didnt steal all my money. That's where I think Lyra crossed the line.

Would you believe me if I told you that I felt worse for the slime that got nuked than I do for the mom?

Too many people in this comment section acting like wanting consequences for bad behavior, particularly bad behavior that almost killed someone, is a bad thing. Like this isn't some petty squabble, she abandoned him and nearly got him killed as a result.

You guys are asking for saint levels of grace to let her get off with that just because she showed up again. All of you guys preaching to just "forgive and forget" don't seem to understand the concept of recompense, which is what that tenet is based on by the way.

That is, you have to make up for the terrible things you've done to show you're truly sincere, you can't just say "I'm sorry, that was bad" and act like it's all good now. Unless you and the person you're apologizing to share some deeper personal philosophy like a faith, that's just pure and unreasonable selfishness coming from you. Because you don't want the responsibility of actually dealing with what you've done.

This aint Naruto, you don't get to be a bad person and expect forgiveness handed out like it's discount air from someone you've significantly impacted by your actions. Your excuses as to why you did it don't matter, if you understand that what you did was wrong then you should understand you need to make proper amends.

Great chapter.
And we all have a person like that mom in our lives.

I'd have gone a different way with that; probably something along the lines of:

"You are complete shit as a parent, of course he doesn't want anything to do with you!
But you're still his parent, so he is still craving your praise; even though he knows he will never receive any form of love from you, he is still trying to get it from you.
What's that?
You say that you would show him love if he asked for it? Well, that's probably why you're such a shitty parent, then; you sure love to children, and that's how they learn.
You've gone out of your way to treat him like shit and abandon him; obviously you don't love him.
At least that's what anybody with half a brain can see.

....
Probably something along those lines, anyway.

But, whatever; this isn't my therapy session, it's a manga and comment section...
