Basically, mc got kidnapped. But instead of getting hauled to their employer the chain guy has other plans. To lure the cleric out using him as bait. As he wanted revenge on her for his adoptive demon father.
So they were lured out in a 3v3. and ended.

Spoiler: Spoilers.

while being captured he got to talk to them. And analyze their personality and thought. And he made a deal or rather a bet with the chain guy.

That the guy in black armor is gonna disgrace himself after he loses.
So the chain guy killed him.
Reason being.

He is a man of honor. The reason why he wants to kill the cleric is not because she killed his father. But because a nobody killed him. Making him a laughing stock.

And since mc prediction is right on the mark. Then the actually deal comes in effect. That is to recover his father's reputation by raising the clerics rep.

Her current reputation is bad. Amount the humans she is a screw up. Among the demons she is a nobody. Cause every demon that met her dies.

After re-reading some chapters I think that MC in his previous world was someone in a bad spot (duh, pretty obvious), someone that had lived with people that had to make him understand the best way to act at all times to avoid becoming a target, but he is even prety young.
Or maybe he was a profiler or studying to become one, a couple recent korean comics invested in the career so it made me remember some details about the job, like that having to do with criminals in a way that makes you think of their next move can warp your own mind, the usual stare at the abyss thing, the recent kidnapping arc made that that theory more believable.
