I'd blame those anti-magic stones for the dark age in that world personally, they must have really made it difficult for mages to advance their craft and therefore society to progress when any random person with a stone and knife can end you.

It's not that surprising that it's an earthling that though of this magic.

The guy only needs to be a scientist or at least someone who like experiments and lost something like his daughter/dog or such. And the first he'll think is to create is a reviving spell. About ethics, well, it's pretty easy, he will commence with small animals. To increase gradually from bigger and bigger, and will start experimenting on humans with the excuse of "I will revive them when I succeed!".
And then you have a failed Revive Spell~

Good twist. It’s about time we have an isekai where earth and other parallel worlds aren’t known, but some people know of them like a hidden society. Unlike most isekai that treat these places like some tourist spot for summoners.

And I thought Earthling ruins isekai by bringing guns there, didn't know we brought revive magic too.

Not gonna lie, I kinda like Docolla having a "dude, my man" style of speech. It's hilarious and I want more villains to talk like that.

Sorry man, what can I say? Earth can't even get its own shit together, so how do you expect it to be conscientious of yours? Frankly, it's your fault for letting our otherworlders slip over to your side.

I like this though. There are still suspensions of disbelief, but this story is clearly trying to be rational and "real" about isekai while telling its story, and I'm impressed with how well its doing. This is quickly going up my list.

@evlbb2 More likely is an Earthling brought the idea of bringing the dead back to life, not for sentimental reasons, but as pawns. It's pretty much impossible for a civilization to not think about resurrection in some capacity, but if magic already exists, necromancy would probably be a foreign concept.

Man, this dude is just tutorial boss yet he'd already won everyone's hearts out her with his mannerisms! Such a shame he'll prolly die like cannon fodder.

I mean, if I got isekai'd, and the isekai didn't know/have anything on necromancy... Welp, being a pioneer doesn't sound so bad, right? :)
