I was about to say the same. AFAIK it makes no difference for the regrowth whether you cut or twist the mushroom. What matters is that you cover the spot with moss or earth to protect the mycelium from drying out.Isn't this a myth? A study from switzerland said that cutting the stem or pulling it all out does not affect the health of the fungus colony. You would pull the whole stem out if you either want to check certain wild mushrooms if they are the toxic variety or not, or if you plan to transplant the mushrooms to another location.
