As much as I like to agree with you, it can be a problem if children is still act and think as one in old age.
Proper education for life skill and experience of growing up as an adult/emotional and mental maturity are needed badly as those are what makes a children into a fine adult. Diner might be good for 1-2 years, but beyond, that will be questionable.

Seeing this and the last chapter in rapid succession, it really hammers in how expectations can ruin people, while there is logic for why those expectations its often or not used as a complete justification to force those people to fit into a mold of another's making based on their own standards.

The poor baby is going to blame himself for this..even though the half demon guy literally threw a fork at him while BEING TOLD he is TERRIFIED of them.

I hate that dude so much for doing this to the kid, he went about it in just about THE most traumatic way for root possible. There was zero reasons to treat him like that if he genuinely wanted to raise and bond with him.

I like Jemaro but he also is guilty of not thinking of root fully in this situation too...man. this series really knows how to tug at the heartstrings.
