They're not married anymore, and he's older than her, so maybe she calls him Nii-san to tease him while still keeping him as family?
Also I remember in some animes older women calling out to men walking past bars/clubs/brothels as Nii-san, so maybe it's also a general term of affection?
Hold up, they're divorced? But the past chapters made it seem like they were still married? And they seem so close now? I'm so confused.
as far as i know there are no rules saying every divorced couple must have a bad relationship, so i don't see a problem with this.Hold up, they're divorced? But the past chapters made it seem like they were still married? And they seem so close now? I'm so confused.
I stand corrected. They ARE divorced, just still close? I wonder why they separated in the first place? IDK anything about gaming the Japanese marriage system.

It’s unclear when or why they divorced. I can confirm that the raws for the character info page at the beginning of the chapter say she is the ex-wife, and have for a while now.
I’ve wondered if the character info raw for her first appearance may shed some light on this, but unfortunately I haven’t found it yet.
It's his day off.is luca not working there anymore? He wanted more help in the last chapter, so hire the orphans, sure, but luca seems to have somehow disappeared from their daily operation?
Dang that's rough. Wouldn't the stigma of being a divorcee be worse than the stigma of being a widow? He's dying, like within a few years, he's almost at the 60 year hard cap for his bloodline. They probably divorced ahead of time to avoid any legal problems and to allow her to remarry if she wanted without the stigma of being a widow attached.
