the average word count for one WN chapter is about 1100 english words, WN has 94 chapters total , so total word count is around 94 x 1100 , = 103,400
the average length of a translated light novel is 55,000 ~70,000 words

so this series has less than 2 LN volumes worth of content. 1 LN usually gets adapted into 2~3 manga volumes or less, so 10 volumes is a long adaptation.

The WN is short, but not really THAT short, LN Volume 1 cover up to WN 38, which is 300 pages worth, the LN Volume 1 is 1-1 to the WN and that is around the average page wise not counting the illustrations, afterword, etc etc, the total of the WN 94 chapters is 800 pages, so that amount to 3ish volumes (some pages short on the 3rd because author didn't get to finish due to health issues and him fully focusing on the manga instead)

The story's first arc was pretty good although even the ending for that was so sketchy after that I kinda lost track of it for a bit and then the great scanlation purge hit.

Reading just the ending makes me confused af I recognise some characters but feel like others completely changed.

They did, pretty early. Basically the husband was marrying her for the sake of protecting the magic eyes as it's his family duty, and got assassinated protecting her.

She was also kept in the dark, thus probably why the undercover romance
