people who think nothing of sending others to their deaths deserve being sent to their deaths.
Idk man, what could you possibly do to them? Imprison them to death? Make them somehow regret their actions and do something good for society? Mind control them to not do the thing they're currently doing?
I read a (Chinese) novel where the MC, who is a human from a distant future, comes back to our current time (but in another universe with supernatural power) and recreates (a portion of) their society there.
Their laws are amusing (?). If A violates B's rights, then A will have the same right taken away (may or may not last for a period of time). It's 'power and responsibility are equal'. If you can't handle the consequences of your actions, don't do it. Eg, if A kills B, then A loses their right to self-defense aka anyone can kill A without being punished by law.
Now you can say that if A is sufficiently strong, then A can kill anyone without really being punished. And you're right, the point their laws is not this.
Also, isn't it true that in the current time (like, right now), big companies can just get away with things, and politicians can practically do whatever they want?
The point of their laws is to make everyone aware of their rights to the fullest extent, and 'power and responsibility are equal'. There’s one law about that: If A knows all of A's rights and how society works, then A can be classified as an 'adult.' That’s right, 'adult' has nothing to do with age; it’s about recognizing how society works (and their rights).
Future humans are biologically considered adults (by current definitions) at birth, thanks to the power of science (I have to mention this just in case).
In this case, since the two leaders (?) are not fulfilling their duties, they will be replaced by "fake humans" (you can think of them as AI) for a period of time (they will not be killed). You might ask, how is this different from just stripping them of their positions? This approach demonstrates to the people the benefits of having a good leader (their lives will improve significantly). If a bad leader takes charge, their lives will return to the current, difficult conditions. So, you can imagine what people would do if their lives went from extra good to down right bad. It's revolution.
People are often unknowingly subjected to abuse, so their laws aim to eliminate that.
I do think their laws are way better than our current ones (no wonder, since they're from the future). What about you?
