it is painful to read and it feels like author are a bit into "torture" trope

though, also tbh, his childhood friend is kind of garbo, not that she's a really bad person, but because she's willing to ditch someone she's close with for years over her "bf" that she knew only probably 1 or 2 months just because the bf is saying "don't get involved with him"
his relatives like his uncle are also utter trash

i'm genuinely hoping that the author finally gives MC deserved reward sooner or later, because if the author keep doing this for another 10 chapter, it's way too rough to read

tbf, he's not exactly fighting to keep things either. The only time he did was when he insisted the official admit his palm had text on it, so he could officially get registered as an adventurer (him trying to lie really lowered the trust in that entire process btw. Sure it was for the kids sake, but it also means that all those "naggers" insisting for a second check or second opinion were entirely right to do so).

The girl? He doesn't seem to try to stay with her in any way. And related, the "discrimination based on class and level"? He could easily prove he is OP, and even if he did not, could easily argue that it's just some bug and that at least at lvl 1 he has the same boost as everyone else. Which leads the them "discriminating" against him (they really aren't. The girl gave vibes of agreeing to with her bf try and "protect" mc (despite how this can only lead to mc having to enter solo instead and be more likely to die), and the boy is clearly not discriminating based on the class, but rather based on him being viewed as a "rival" for his love-interest).

Honestly, fuck that hoe. At risk of sounding like a jaded human being even though I'm not, I'll admit this is a realistic enough chain of events. I've seen this type of thing happening with women first and second hand, even when you think it goes against everything that person stood for. I appreciate the author at least so far, giving the MC a realistic enough initial conflict of feelings and basic but not excessive concern for others. Hope at least this doesn't become a major recurring plot point or have her pushed again into the story in any major way.

before someone make a non joke ntr schizo comment, i just want to clarify, i don't give a shit whether MC childhood friend character ended up with not the MC in any story i read when it comes to romantic relationship, this one annoys me simply because she ditched a long time friend over a bf she knew for 1~2 month when the bf literally are saying "i don't want him to slow us down" as an excuse when he clearly just doesn't want MC to interact with the childhood friend
it's even worse when you know MC parents died not too long ago as well in the story

that would be fine if it naturally happen, that would be understandable and realistic, i'm not trying to make it weird, because it does happen in my life as well people going separate way naturally over time

but in this story case, it just happens literally when they still hang out and suddenly just stop, that's what is weird, unless the author fucked up at showing the timeline they actually hanging out together less and less

i'm not saying that someone needs to be tied down by their friendship, it's more of that there are way someone goes separate way naturally instead of just abruptly stop hanging out with your friend of years that you still hang out with out of nowhere
also, since you don't read the chapter, it's not even about hobbies that separate them at all

tbh, it also kind of fit this story theme of what the author wants, torturing the MC mentally (despite me not liking it that it's done this way)
