Immediately asking about grand-grandchildren.

Didn't take long to reveal his hand. To the readers, at least.

"I bet it's not like she's all that happy about it."
Do you bet her firstborn as the next ruler? Are you prepared to lose?

At least they're thinking about preventing spies. That's quite often left out in mangas.

"Should we test it tonight?"
Wonder which part of it she wants more.

now that he knows Tetra exists i guess she's his heir, MC needs to assassinate him and inherit his kingdom then put any son he makes with Tetra as the duke of that land.

All fun and games until the granddaughter he wants to 'help' goes against him. Can't imagine tetra will appreciate any of this meddling.
He knows that already. That's why he said he needs to visit Rosice to simply talk to Tetra. It might be enough to have Tetra get used to him and consider him a grandfather for real. The next step would be to convince Tetra that she's just as important as Yuria. The main plan is to use clandestine methods to create pressure in the society, to make it seem like Tetra's son being the next king is the only solution. He's not expecting Tetra to choose his side against her better judgement, per se. He's planning to make his side to be the only viable side and not a bad choice either. Almus definitely won't think his future children with Tetra are less worthy than those with Yuria. He just wants to avoid deep internal trouble, let alone another civil war, in the country, so Tetra not demanding an equal right to the throne for her children is an easy way out.

With all the talk about getting information while having sex, I'm surprise they didn't write anything about the classic get target drunk or high, or simply seduced, then get information out through tricky seemingly roundabout and unrelated questions.
Like, come on, it's the oldest trick in the book used in almost every media I consume...

goddammit I had faith in a king besides our MC would be more wise or at least caring. Still old was smart, sadly too smart as he clearly got markes by the MC as a possible threat

yep, that would be funny, like how the turn tables old man... with little Tetra's son (or daughter) going Dewey with "the future is now old man"

Scheming is short term, high-risk and ends when you are dead. Marriage ties with good relations form friendships, alliances, unions and opportunities that last centuries or more.

Scheming is why Roman dynasties were short lived, marriages are why the Habsburgs are still around and why the current monarch of England is still a descendant of Wilhelm the conqueror.

Diplomatic victory is way more profitable in realpolitiks, provided you back it up with a large stick.

World seems to adher to strict Salic law when it comes to royal and aristocratic inheritance, especially so considering MC is the king and not prince-consort with Yuria as the sovereign queen. This whole thought wasn't even entertained during the whole civil war mess.
Gramp's heir apparent is probably closest male relative, if they have a dynastic system and not some weird electorship. Should Tetra birth a boy, he would then be the heir apparent. MC as the spouse of his kin also has a claim to the throne, once more supposing a dynastic system, but a rather weak one. Such a claim usually would require military intervention to enforce, atleast historically.

Well, a single chapter to shoot down my optimism about Tetra's grandfather, can't say I'm surprised though.

Even so, history is littered with plenty of civil wars and changing loyalties simply because of royal bloodlines, with the medieval European and Chinese ones coming to mind.

There's already been a civil war in the manga once, now we're seeing the machinations of said marriage ties. I wouldn't be surprised if Tetra's bloodline dispute will simply end at her having a handful of daughters and no sons, and with Yuria having a boy.
