Yeah it's very strange they didn't show the tribute part. I mean it'd be dramatic to give 70% of all possessions away.

Though immovables/estate could also be considered as possessions.

The king just guesstimated how much they had from the size of the village. As long as it was close enough, it was fine. If it was less than what he thought, he had to weigh how much he thought they were holding back vs what he risked losing if he made a fight of it.
