Why is the arranged marriage still a thing? Like haven't they started their plan with Almus and the other girl? They shouldn't need the arranged marriage anymore. Like seriously are the King and his bro just dumb?

Ugh. New level of ignorance. Conscripts by fucking definition have lower morale than mercenaries who are being properly paid.

@ninjadork not necessarily, mercs are only in it for money showing as much morale as money was promised them, whilst conscripts fight for their land, country or earning retirement in a safe place, which may be a greater motivator.

I mean if people are reading this because they want a pure romance manga it would probably help to notice that the theme says "Harem" Also what were you expecting from a Isekai manga? If the main protagonist is male, its an isekai and there are ANY hints at a romance its almost certain there will be a harem or have harem undertones, As proof of this you can go to the manga search and exclude harem but include romance and reincarnation, there are 2 pages of books that have no harem, BUT if you remove the ones with a female protagonist and the ones that do have harem undertones? I can bet you can count how many there are on two hands.

@WillLi The kingdom runs on a system of alliances where the alliances holds the most power. The person that Julia is getting engaged to is literally the strongest one and holds a majority of the land in the kingdom so it's obvious rather then marrying the princess to some nobody, it's better to establish a better connection to a powerhouse. Of course, we know Almus is knowledgeable and all and so does the king but the public doesn't and to top it off, he lacks an army and land so even if he wants to break off this engagement he has no chance of defending and securing himself.

@twinklecake You aren't the one falling for Almus, so you don't need to see it. It's enough she saw enough of them from her own point of view. She could have simply fallen for his looks, his super competence, his courage, intelligence, and how he's taking care of so many people so splendidly, yet among all that he still remains very humble and jovial. Do you see many other as good young men around in that country?

@chibit That's not exactly the best way to look at it considering that a lot of those harem tags are dubious at best. Flat out lies at worst. When is Shield Hero ever a harem? When is Soudouki ever a harem? When is Mushoku Tensei ever a harem? Moon-led Journey only has a love triangle, not a harem (None of his students are interested in him as far as I remember, and the pig girl doesn't count). World Teacher is a harem...wot?

I feel like whoever is tagging these either doesn't know what a harem strictly is or is being overly liberal with it. That's only looking at manga too. I could go on for a while about kickass isekai light novels with no harems.

Bad writers gravitate to writing isekai stories. The isekai premise itself is NOT an excuse to write a bad story.

The funniest harem tag is definitely KonoSuba. Does someone actually feel any romance in that story?

finally something the author is good at, character development, no more stupid centralized goverment bs.

@Aretheus
When is Shield Hero ever a harem?
End of the series he fucked raph, sadina, the princess, and some randoms.

When is Soudouki ever a harem?
dog girl, maid, the princess that got sick, the black storm

When is Mushoku Tensei ever a harem?
Seriously? 3 wives and you dont call that a harem?

I feel like whoever is tagging these either doesn't know what a harem
Can you give your definition for it? how many girls are needed to want the MCs cock before its officially a harem?

Bad writers gravitate to writing isekai stories. The isekai premise itself is NOT an excuse to write a bad story.
I agree!

The funniest harem tag is definitely KonoSuba. Does someone actually feel any romance in that story?
Dont read the LNs

@exogriz
The usual for isekai is the MC fucking 7+ girls, you might want to rethink your statement.

@Aretheus idk if you are being serious, you literally named a plethora of actual harem stories and they literally all have MC getting wit multiple girls, some like World teacher and Shield Hero the manga has gotten their yet but the rest of them a harem is more or less defined already...

@Kaarme Actually, I do need to see it. It's never once shown that she's attracted to any one of those things you mentioned. I don't mind if a character burns to death either, but I expect to find out how that person ended up catching fire and dying as a result, or at least people in-story to wonder about it themselves. This is like if some secodary character was killed off offscreen by fire and people saying "oh ok" and it's never mentioned again.
