Poor Sui the Horse. You will be hunted and become a food the next time Almus sets his priority over you.
Also, you will the be the first meat that will introduced to the world of corned horse meat, which is like corned beef...
Be glad Sui the horse, people in the future will be remember you as the origin of corned beef (though Sui was a horse).

You say it's but a scratch? Just a flesh wound?

Yuria is already behaving like a wife, which is good. Apart from sleeping in the same tent, but that can't be helped.

Algus was kinda cold this chapter, talking about eating the horse because it betrayed him (horse he just got and he also doesn't like horses) and ok with pillaging

Well, I'm sure he must be getting used to this world which is considerably more primitive. He has been involved in war and has hunted to bring food.

I really don't think there's anything wrong with eating the horse.

However, I do wonder if it isn't a mistake to allow pillaging. It's one thing if the pillaging concerns the ruling class which has amassed wealth and you're just taking wealth back home while replacing the ruling nobility with your own, but if you're looting from the common people they will not simply remember the war as being a problem of the nobility; they will hold grudges against the enemy country, they will be poorer from having lost their belongings and so they will join the army, get paid as soldiers and have the possibility of retaliating in the same manner. Then there's the fact that he will be completely unable to use the Exus tribe in a civil war because pillaging from his own countrymen in order to establish himself as the king is not a great idea.
With that said, I was under the impression that Dormorgar was going to be on the offensive while Rosice would be defending itself, so the opportunity to pillage should be scarce, but still it wouldn't be surprising if land was ceded if Dormorgar loses the war. I guess he can always pass off the pillaging as acts from the exus tribe and establish policies to provide help to the newly conquered people to lessen their grudge. As long as they don't kill while pillaging civilians it should be ok. The belongings of civilians probably aren't worth all that much so allowing pillaging in their alliance but then proposing to give bonuses if they don't pillage is a possibility. He could also just have them pillage, then pay the civilians to rebuild and make his money back in the long term through taxes since he'll have the land.

Well, we'll just have to see how that is handled. Right now, this is just an oral agreement between them too. They don't have anyone recording this nor witnessing this. The exus can't even be sure the alliance will hold since King of Rosice is sickly and all they have is the assurance from our MC that the next king will be favourable to the deal he strikes (of course, we know that the next intended king is going to be the mc).

@kireato Controlled pillaging wouldn't be a problem, that is pillaging an area that the population has fled from. It is completely normal for an army to take possession of what ever it finds if the people that live there have run off. Pillaging only really becomes a problem when it involves burning things and attacking civilians but general looting results in little to no major issues as livestock would otherwise become harmed or killed by their own stupidity or wild animals and with no one there to protect them grain stores are likely to become damaged or destroyed by animals and weather.

Pillaging in war is normal except pillaging from non-combatant civillian directly which is a war crime even before Rome was built. Also, you can take POW as your slave if they are not killed

Well, the manga stayed away from raping and pillaging, but usually pillaging involves using force. It's also one thing to take food and another to take other valuables (carpets, potteries, jewelry, etc) while the war is ongoing as those items are dead weight.

I'm not sure this is an era when population are informed and flee from their homes - after all, if they could they would take their valuables as well as guide their livestock away.

I'm really not sure about most things. There are fortified cities and in the previous war the MC participated in, their armies faced off out in the open and there was no question about pillaging. I would say that a war in the context of the manga would involve armies facing out in open locations and then moving inside cities which is where the pillaging would occur, and I don't think most citizens could afford moving out of the city so easily. As you say, if it's controlled then it's probably not much of a problem. It's essentially just a bonus payment from possessions that they are already stealing and if the MC takes the land and invests in the citizens, he will make his money in taxes and just generally have a more resources available in his kingdom.

He knows 4 people with blessings? Mmm. I remember Rigard, this archer dude, the MC himself and... who is the 4th? Yuria's healing ability?
