i'd just like to thank Reject/Hero for including the honorifics. You just lose so much information and nuance when they are gone, no matter how much you try to compensate with English honorifics or trying to jam it in contextually.
Btw guys, should I leave 'Yosh' for future TLs or replace it with words like 'Good' or 'All right' ? I got a PM telling me that I should leave it alone, I just wanna know if y'all are okay with it
@saredesu unfortunately, you won't get your wish with the paladin. This is his last appearance in this volume of the novel (5). He does show up again in 6, though.
I am curious if the manga will get through all of volume 6 before season 2 of the anime airs (which will adapt volumes 4-6). Since we are maybe 75% of the way thru volume 5... I doubt it given the current pacing.
On the whole thing about scan groups and so: seriously, can some people stop acting like if some scan group had bought the translation rights to some series? None of them are official translators, and it is not that they sending a percentage of their revenues to the author or any similar contract bound compensation in exchange for exclusivity in an area or in a language ...
Really, shouldn't we be happy that more people are scalanating series? Or people want that badly to go back to the bad old days when there would be 2 or 3 series not in Japanese ( because no scalanators ) lounging around in shady sites with malware filled porn banners and 345 popups?
@javin141 I hope most of us knows enough Japanese that they understand what yosh mean. If not, put TL note. Some characters speak that way, so it adds flavour to the tl.
Hope you guys will reconsider waiting for PT before uploading here. They aren't exactly known for translating things quickly, and they have a whole week of delay after uploading to their site before they put it on MD.
Take back what I said about this new translation group. Locking new chapters behind a patreon is profiting off of the authors work and is super scummy.
@Tacred, Tbh we're not trying to profit off of the owners work or anything, we're just scanlating because it's a hobby of ours. Not trying to make this into an excuse or anything, but we're just pluging our patreons as we each have our own circumstances, Heromanhua needs funds to run their website (which has not been earning anything at all..) and for us @ reject scans, we need funds to pay TLs and expand our series and stuff.. Well idk about Heromanhua but over here we haven't gained a single patreon since we started releasing this ( infact, we lost 2..) so I'm probably gonna have to fork out a bit of our own money to pay TLs and one of my staff also wanted to help pay a little bit I kinda feel guilty for having someone that is already helping me out pay.. Anyways, as I said earlier, I'm doing this as a hobby and not as a source of revenue even though it can be tiring at times especially now since I've got exams loaded throughout the next four weeks.
Sorry if this sounds like a shot at you but I'm not trying to insult you or anything, I can understand your view point since I use to be a regular manga reader until I started TLing a while ago. If I could, I would try to scanlate without any monetary involvement and just get TLs and other staff that is joining just as their passion/ a hobby but It's really hard to get TLs since there are tons of groups and even some big groups struggle to get TLs even tho they are paying really high rates..
I'm sorry for making this so long but thanks for reading the release and have a nice day

Your entitlement is showing... the scanlators are doing us a favor here. I do not know if they purchased a copy (thus costing them money) or got it elsewhere, but all the same. They're spending their time to scan, cleanup the images, then translating well isn't always easy either especially one one language uses such different concepts than the other. Typesetting, etc. There is actual work being done, and you are benefiting from it AT NO COST.
Those chapters will obviously come out to non-patreon donors too, just not as quickly. Furthermore this is a VERY common practice in unofficial translations. Perhaps more so with novels. There is nothing wrong with it.
I'd remind your holiness that you are reading here for free... basically it is piracy you know? Are you paying the author? Probably you should and so should I. But all the same we're both here. So screw off with your fake holier than thou routine.
Slightly off topic -
I do sorta wish there was a system where I could just give money directly to various authors in exchange for nothing. Yeah I could buy their stuff, but I don't want physical goods. I like everything digital. Plus I'm lost trying to navigate non-English websites anyhow. Because it is more convenient that way, I'm ripping them off. Given that I wouldn't mind actually kicking money their way if there was an easy, reliable, standardized way. And not only manga and novels, but music artists too - I don't want to send all my money to their label LOL. I want it to reach them.
I don't pirate games anymore because Steam made it as convenient as piracy or perhaps even more so. It isn't even about the money. I don't think we'd get something like that for manga though, but it would be nice. So MD remains the best experience, and the one I'll keep using.
@javin141
You don't actually have to explain yourself to entitled fools. Either way thanks for your work.
