i guess it would be hard to explain it , even if he left out the "other world". Versus just saying "i'm from a faraway place" he was able to remake 'soap', so i'm sure there's some sciences that could be invented, but it's not so big of a story that he could 'reinvent' more modern stuff unless he somehow is able to get 'high up connections' to subtly make things a bit better(tho outside of living in like some high class luxury everyday , his life would be pretty ideal for some ppl lol, unless he develops like a heart condition but it'd be nice if healing magic just automatically boosted your immune system and such lol), Roxanne seems to hype him up and only sherry's just doubtful versus "I grew up from a faraway country and not used to the culture/common sense of this area"

Do they actually call it a "stick" in this series, or is this just a TL quirk? In most RPG series, the "stick/wand" distinction they're talking about is "staff/wand".

To my knowledge, other than him seeing them in a store labeled as canes by his windows, I think this is the first time they have talked about any other kind of spellcasting equipment at all.

Unless they intend the next chapter to be very big, with the introduction of the new member. Its just too little.

One thing that really annoys me is how he doesn't try to explain his abilities more. Like I get the character has trust issues, but you could dance around specifics while trying to make them understand your abilities.

It's the second time I see you talking about paranoia. Can you explain a bit more? Is this about his concerns that the church or kingdom will hunt him down if they discover he can change classes/jobs at will? I think I remember something like that from dozens and dozens of chapters ago?

Paranoia is like a self-refilling drug. You can never know if you're being overly paranoid until you learn you weren't being paranoid enough.

Spoiler: MC's History

A big part of our MC's issue is that his mother died and he was abused by his alcoholic father and was bullied at school. Until his kendo and aikido skills where enough to stop that. Basically he's got issues, and now that he's found someone (Roxanne specifically but all the girls really) who he cares about he is being rather possessive of their attention.

Part of the issue is that he really wants Sheri's respect and thinks that the best way to get it is to seem smarter than he actually is. In short, typical dumb guy trying to impress a girl.

The anime also shows him 10 years later at the end of season 1, almost as implying there wouldn't be a second season because of that "flashforward". The fact that he impregnated a girl 3 months after going to this world (so like in 25 years of our time since he is on day 20 something I think) and then left her to go fuck 5 beastgirls daily and dungeon exploring just shows how much of an asshole the protagonist is. Does he impregnates a girl in the novel too? I wouldn't doubt, but you never know

The WN made it clear that the kid was an alternate future where the woman whose husband got killed in the bandit raid slept with him (what do they call it in Japan, a midnight visit?) and he knocked her up. The guy that Hugo the bandit stabs in chapter 1 of the manga, we don't even see the woman. Here's what sub-chapter 9 of the WN says:

There is no problem if you continue reading the story without reading this chapter.
Future events will be different to this, including characters and settings. It does have heroines appear that have not yet been introduced.

Holy shit, I just checked out the reviews for the novel on NU. It sounds like the absolute worst, and that I should be thankful the manga isn’t that bad.

I should have guessed something was up when this started with him looking up ways to.. self delete and the s3x slaves part, but buddy was working through some things.

Normally I wouldn’t pay attention to NU reviews as they’re way too picky, but I somehow feel these are on point.

He is so afraid of getting cucked that its kinda hilarious. Imo he s the worst slave harem MC out there since only reason he got them in the first place was straight up fuck them and make sure they can't fuck anyone else or fuck him over. He is such an insecure little bitch (like all sex slave owner MCs tends to be).

They expected it, of course. The normal party size in this world is 6, so it was always a given that he'd get atleast 3 more slaves. It's a pretty normal thing in that world.

Volume 13 came out this year tho? But yeah the pacing is still glacial in the LN, although I think it's slightly better than the manga.
