It's probably Leo pitying Victie so he helped her get away.

Wtf that actually made a lot of sense...
let the MC cook a bit more, I want to know what happens next. And I think this incident has more than one culprit.

Why is mc invalidating any plan that could have carried risks for the culprit? Premediated does in no way mean "absolutely perfect and flawless", and if it did, then him being able to reason out the plan at all would immediately invalidate it per definition.

Pretty sure he is eliminating possibilities with low probabilities for success and unfeasible options.

Yes (to "low" probability for success (<99%). No to "unfeasible"), but there is no actual reason to. Her taking a risk to implement a plan is not proof that she did not implement that plan. Rather, I want to know how he argues she "obviously" would act to instead achieve this risk-free from her position, assuming she deemed it worthwhile doing to such an extent that she is fine taking real risks if needed.
If she truly think of the girl as her own daughter and laments her depression, then I find it very likely that she would take risks to help her escape (I would instead invalidate the possibility of her being the culprit, on her plan requiring the aid of leo who had no contact with her prior to this).

And here I was leaning towards Yasha being the culprit given she has free reign of the place. Yet the thing with the statue's face was so obvious I completely overlooked it lol

Huh so my guess ended up being right a few chapters back, but as someone mentioned why would Leo push the MC to investigate if he’s the culprit? It’s possible he wanted to be found out to solidify the idea the princess is dead and leave no room for speculation about whether the body is the princess or not.

The glaring issue about the body’s head being missing is still up in the air, and while the person who did the autopsy “confirmed” it was the princess whose to say she isn’t lying/mistaken? It could imply that by any means necessary Leo wants to ensure that the body is deemed to be that of the princess’s even if means his imprisonment.

So Leo is definitely an accomplice, but it would be surprising if he wanted to kill her. And with the pushing to solve the case there wouldn't be a need for Leo if he was the murderer especially since with the outsider theory they would get to the same conclusion. Presuming they were friends Leo wouldn't want to sacrifice himself to never see her again.
