I think at this point it's less that stuff isn't being done, it's just all of it is happening off-screen.
Every day the MC is going out and tending the fields and managing the affairs of the village, and so on, but we don't need to hear every chapter "and then I went out and made sure the villagers were doing stuff" or "and then I watered the rutabegas". We've heard he's doing these things in previous chapters and we're meant to just assume he's continuing to work on everything.
After all, he did say he wanted a peaceful life farming, so I doubt he minds that he's not involved in all this complex political stuff.
...even though he is.
