The plot could be really good if it built on the MC's hermit-like dedication to making a comfortable home but various nuisances keep showing up. But it is selling nothing on the bare-bones dry main character. Which may have been the authour's intent as he seems more focused on presenting the other characters as if the readers will self-insert themselves as the MC.
The premise is about selling this setting for us to invest ourselves in and fantasize about how nice it would be to be the MC. Too bad it is a shallow foundation with a hollow and poorly built 2x3 shack built in the shadow of many like it. xD

PerfectDeath: that is, quite literally, the point of most Isekai stories. Sometimes they evolve into something more or better, sometimes they don't.
Basically it is a Visual Novel (game genera) in book/manga format (whereas 'H' visual novels [sometimes others] don't give mutch definition to the Main Character [especially males] specifically for the purpose of self insertion [pun intended]).
