Be that it may, he is ALWAYS right about them in universe. Not even once did he guess a girl's intentions wrong. They were always after some shady shit. The way he goes about it though? Pants on head retarded.
I think that's more on the author, but I appreciate a cautious/paranoid MC. Unfortunately, you're right how badly he goes about it.
Also kenji is a lost cause. He has the emotional intelligence of a 6 year old. He is actually dangerous considering how easy it it is to manuplate him to destroy a country along with every man, woman and children.
Seriously. Dude's going to destroy another city, again, and lose his mind.. again.

If the manga is following web novel. Then….

Yes. His demon familiar gets controlled, he’s tied down, demon familiar forced to have sex with the bad guy of this arc right in front of Naoto. Later Naoto gets controlled a bit and is forced to have sex with Kazuha(who also turns out to be also partially controlled) in order NTR Kenji. Once we get passed that we are technically in new territory as webnovel stopped shortly after that for indefinite hiatus.

The bad guy’s method of control is basically overwriting the status of said person but it has limitations against players. Kenji seems to be immune to it. Basically Naoto and Kazuha got their status altered and it affected them where they can’t go against the bad guy. Prior to the hiatus, Naoto was trying to think of a workaround to take down bad guy.
I appreciate this, but funnily enough, I went and found the web novel and MTL'd it to see what was coming next right before you posted. If anyone's curious and wanted more info...

The villain is the gatekeeper, who can also change his appearance alongside his ability to overwrite a character's status and is also the king and innkeeper's husband (which I'm not a huge fan of, as his gift seems too powerful/easy to BS anything into the plot). Kenji is immune to it due to being a higher level, so the villain wants to blackmail/control Naoto to force him to get close to Kenji so he can control him that way (i e. not directly through his gift, but instead through Naoto's friendship/bond).

Depite sleeping around with nearly everyone else, the villain also kept Kazuha a virgin as some plot to make Naoto feel guilty about being forced to sleep with her (as if he had any choice in the matter, plus it's weird to me that the villain would hatch such a plan in the first place, as if he knew someone like Naoto would eventually come along and be the perfect target for this kind of thing). Then the web novel stops with the villain in the middle of raping Kazuha later on. I mean, call me weird, but I don't get how what Naoto was forced to do would make for good blackmail, much less why she needed to be a virgin for it, especially when the villain is soon raping her afterwards and making himself a prime target for Kenji's rage, anyway. It feels like majorly forced drama to me, at least, and it's wild how the web novel appears to have gone into a multi-year hiatus right in the middle of that sex scene (assuming the site I found the web novel on was complete - it ended on chapter 20 of part 3 there).

I'm definitely curious to see what direction the manga goes once it's in uncharted territory.

Naoto should absolutely not be dumb enough to fall for this guy's tricks, especially after knowing about "Cover-Up". In fact, who knows if anything he said is true? I'm thorougly disappointed by this chapter...

I admit it was really unexpected. I think I got too relaxed by the pacing of this more or less peaceful (so far) ark.

with Aria he kinda let his d!ck took over, as he actually didn't need to keep going on her, as she wanted to be by kenji's side by her choice. (also he was wrong with Yuno too, she was 100% sincere, although she wasn't in love with Kenji, although it was weird how she was wary of Naoto when he helped them too, ffs he was the one that actually saved her life in their first meeting)

I was going to be mad that the MC didn't mention the demonussy quality since the restart, but it was used more because Foderlinz got kidnapped (apparently)
