For a moment I thought this was another survival isekai story by a certain author that's done it thrice at time of me typing this. I can already tell this will be trash wish fulfillment given that most of the girls are busty but I won't complain about it since I'm a raccoon for this stuff. Thanks for the translations.
Haven't run across that classmate in my reading, so as of now I'm guessing just a fork. Though it could be a smokescreen. There is a small possibility the person said fork but thought of something else first. The previous bit was spoilered since it should be brought up in the next two or three chapters I imagine.
So someone remind me:
Why did the MC get an inventory skill?
He asked for a skill to craft things, NOT for a skill to store things.
Crafting things does NOT imply that you can store things to use as material in subspace.
Plot armor right from the start?
This implies a lot of plot holes in the future that need to be filled with plot armor.
Hopefully the author does not continue that way.

Because the blackboard is essentially mind reading and the thoughts on what that ability means to them is added. So he thought about crafting as in crafting from a video game. They explain that healing magic was also based on the image of a white mage as well.
The characters will have thoughts on this as we continue. We are still on day 1, after all. The bit ahead will be explained in the near future (Chapter 25 in the WN), but it might help. Alternatively, if you don't want to read the spoiler and just get the early bits, the characters thoughts will be more explored on things once the two we see riding Mashiro join up. Though the WN has them reach Sousuke and Chiyu at night, so it might be in two or three chapters.
The MC's recognition of things matters. It'll still be stored, but he needs more than a name to go off. For example, later when the girls want skin lotion, he has two issues. One, he can't conjure up a recipe even if he knows the basic concept. Two, he's missing an ingredient. One of the girls talks to him about Lanolin, Sheep's Wax, and its use in beauty products. He finds Sheep's Wax in his inventory, proving it has been stored without his knowledge but unable to be accessed yet. This does not unlock it as a recipe without a bit more talk, as the lotion bit isn't something he has experienced. Once he thinks of the emulsification like mayo, that unlocks the recipe, as now his ingredients and understanding have reached each other.
Can't say there aren't plot holes for this in other ways, or if there won't be variance in how that understanding is implied.
Anyway, I've not read further than the translated bits on Infinitenoveltranslations, but there is more than 200 chapters in the WN.

That could have been much simpler explained from the beginning.
Instead of "I want a carfting skill" which does NOT imply any bonus content he could have simply phrased it as "I want the power of Minecraft".
But then that would obviously be OP as well as that it would give away that the MC is pretty much just a copy of Kosuke from "Goshujinsama to Yuku Isekai Survival!".

But it is narratively important to realize in universe. The fact is also that it matters for more than just the Protagonist's ability. He definitely isn't a copy of Kosuke either, lol. Not everyone immediately associates survival crafting with Minecraft, even if it is/was the most popular. The visualization people have of their powers do matter, and it isn't what he (or anyone else actually) vocalized that matters. You could answer without saying a thing as well.
The point I am complaining about is not the MC almost being a copy of Kosuke.
My issue is the difference between the way the manga presents itself differently as in "With his crafting ability, Sousuke easily conquers the harsh island life!" and then actually giving Sousuke all those bonus skills as included extras.
It is fine that the author gives Sousuke those abilities.
The issue I have is that is framed as only getting a crafting ability.
I just wish the author would be honest about it from the beginning instead of coming out like "Oh yeah, this skill and that feature are also part of the 'crafting ability'" every time.

Okay, but it isn't really hidden? Also, cultural shorthand for Japanese might just mean crafting ability equals what we see, not what you expect. I certainly expected seeing inventory because it is present in other 'crafting' wn/ln stuff. This is chapter 1 for the manga, and they didn't hide it to chapter 3 or 4. The wn doesn't have crafting in chapter 1, but that is because they are generally very short chapters.
I can sort of see where your complaint comes from, but it just reads as very weird to me because it places your expectations on what that ability is to everyone's. This is the 'Naruto is a Ninja so he shouldn't wear orange' complaint.
