As discussed in the comments from a previous chapter, this is ultimately a manga about cooking. The romance really does take back stage, as the MC's progress towards having more and more advancement to cooking is what is center stage.

This glimpses of Ai Fa liking the Asuta we should cherish, since it won't happen much often.

Never. Ai Fa is the only reliable contributor. Dream boy probably still hasn’t considered what to do when the 2~3 people helping him quit. Only reasonable way for them to have a future is to join or be absorbed into another clan.

I think it's more about her being depressed about the role women in her tribe are expected to have. Sure, she joined but it's not normal in her society, so that bummed her but then she got heckled and decided fuck it ill do it anyway

Skill generally beats power. See: Judo. Donda Ruu is powerful AND skilled, same with the other whose name I can't recall off the top of my head. Ai Fa is also no slouch when it comes to power, but she suffers the detriment of being female (skeleton structure, musculature, etc) which means she can't operate in the same weight classes reasonably, as was noted in the manga.

He has been training the people of the allied clans how to cook deliciously for awhile now, so he doesn't need to do the base tier preparations, after all.
