The "Skill" can't judge her because she is not Killing out of Malice, but since the Law on that world is different, the fight is inevitable I guess, I hope the cool old man stay alive after the fight because if the fight between Humans are rare, he ain't winning vs Ginko even if he has years of experience fighting, because he is fighting monsters, not human

Meanwhile Ginko has years of experience fighting and killing humans because it's her way of life, way of a Samurai

The Judge cannot, well, judge her because even though she kills people, Ginko comes from a completely different world where morality and ethics are wholely different aka outside of their jurisdiction.

Even then, Ginko has never killed anyone innocent in their world, and it's made explicitly clear that she has a moral obligation to never harms innocents or else she commits self-mutilation as a form of punishment, so the Judge should be able to recognise that it's not strictly a black and white case. This set of circumstances requires a more delicate touch than what's basically a law rulebook with a mouth can offer.

The law can't judge her because she kill human in another world with it's own law or is it because she has reason to kill another human :finnawoke:

its almost sounds like a world with only one kingdom and no faction conflict
it doesn't sound make sense at first but we have real world parallel. if you live in region where resource are abundant but environment are harsh, every people matter. for example some siberian and northern asia/america traditional tribe has culture that extremely abhor to concept to people murder another people. Ainu is famous example. India subcontinent another example that do it different way. where only specific privileged social class pretty much monopolize conflict (the warrior or kshatriya). it's discouraged for the brahmin (the religious class) or the Vaishya (the merchant class) to bear arms, let alone killing other people and the punishment for it also very harsh.

I love that this series is playing with the MC's vastly different ideology and culture and how she clashes with their world in a major way.

Can't wait to read more!

Yeah, most Isekai have the Isekai'd MC come from a world without slavery and with modern understandings of universal rights and equality. Most Isekai then just let that MC get away with all the benefits of inequality without making them actually challenge the world order. They'll probably get a hot slave or something.

This one, her batshit insane ideas about honorable death, combat, and human on human warfare clash with a society that has been built on conflict against monsters and doesn't seem to have a concept of people fighting people over shit. It's fascinating because we know her, we understand her, and we empathize with her, but we also know she's fucking nuts and that people are right to be afraid of her ethical framework. She's tried to kill herself a few times already and cut off her arm in penance last chapter. Or the time she didn't care that the dwarf was held hostage because she figured he wanted to die in shame for being caught anyway. Or, y'know, the time she hugged the severed head of someone she killed cause he said she'd one day die in battle and that was just the sweetest, nicest, most comforting thing anyone's said to her. She cut off that head, by the way.

Combine that with smart storytelling, a pace that lets you understand the world and breathe, and nobody talking about status menus and skill levels and you've got yourself a hit

committing to world-building around a society where human-vs-human conflict is unthinkable will be a challenge. A lot of social dynamics only make sense when the threat of violence is a possibility, especially in a fantasy feudal setting. But it's an interesting thought experiment to follow, where all violence involves outsiders and the in-group is 100% peaceful. What would that look like?

Of course, it's possible the girl is just naive, and human-vs-human conflict DOES happen. Or DID happen. The elf looked sus, perhaps this peace among humankind is a modern thing, and 200 years ago, they were having civil wars and claiming territory like normal? On the other hand, that reaction might have been the elf realizing that if Ginko wasn't killing monsters, she's been killing people.

This series continues to be quality, I hope these themes get explored in the future!

I think you’re right and Ginko is probably justified in not trusting her. If not for monsters, she might have start killing people as soon as she got there, armed combatants granted.

It’s early but the story has taken a really interesting turn, most isekai have protagonist save the world but instead of ”threaten” it.

I love the way this chapter was constructed and it does a great job of introducing a character and making me care about the backstory of the samurai at the same time

I get the feeling the public are being lied to as i doubt there are no Humans killing Humans as people that kill for power/greed exist everywhere. Also the "Heroes" we have seen are just as selfish and rotten as ones we see in MHA as of this point in the manga Ginko is the only sane "Hero".

As for the outcome i really hope we continue the trend of using humor to solve the battles between the "Good" Heroes like the old man but Ginko also might of mentally killed the judge on accident...oops :kek:
