So this is like River Song in Doctor Who where they meet at random points in time, only in this case the first time they met was the first time for both of them. Clearly she is married to him given the ring that looks like one from our world especially with no tradition of giving rings in Mu/Kyara's world. That means she has married him in her past but his future. The diary being called a curse is because he can only experience linearly to himself, so events may be unavoidable and he can only observe and interact without actually changing major events.
Yup. The "do we really have free will?" debate that comes up with time travel. (The debate exists without time travel. But time travel with no way to change the past pretty much forces the answer to be "no".)
It’s also curious that he’s met with the cat girl twice actually, seems very unlikely if it’s always a random spot, perhaps he always is in xyz radius (seems a bit unlikely due to the desert, as it was large), otherwise maybe he’s connected to the people he happens to spawn near and they’re all people he will sometimes have a chance to return to? (If that’s the case I hope they explain it as the random chance thing seems flimsy)
The priest guy MC met earlier implies MC has the ability to travel anywhere and anywhen he wants; he just hasn't figured out how to control it yet. So I wouldn't be surprised if MC was subconsciously willing himself to meet with Kyara again when he jumped. (His second trip being a failure to properly control his destination. Actually that brings up another question - when did his second trip occur in the other world?)
That's the fear I
expressed in the previous chapter, the only viable option seems to be to pick one of the worlds forfeiting the other and stay there if he wants to build any kind of stable life.
Oh wow. it just occurred to me that he can have his harem cake and eat it too. Since he can jump around in time, from his perspective he can marry girl 1, visit her at regular intervals in her life, until she grows old and dies of old age. He buries her, grieves for a respectable period of time. Then he jumps back in time and marries girl 2, and repeats the process.
From the girls' perspective it may seem like two-timing. But from his perspective, he married, was faithful, became a widow, and remarried.
