There is a really fun group of Youtube channels dedicated to Japanese car camping, I am partial to the Kei truck campers myself.

When camping like that for an extended period it takes a lot of preparation to have everything you need in place. Everything has a spot and a specific process for use, part of the fun is taking the steps. Having a camping van instead is much easier, way more room for everything inside. Mileage is a lot worse.
