Can't wait for Isekai but it's just vending machines. No humans, no becoming a vending machine. Just a vending machine alley getting isekai'd and how other worlders react to the unknown. Imagine a goblin looking for sustenance, stumbles upon a vending machine that dispenses cup ramen. It tries to bite the flash fried noodle puck, but it's too hard. Hot water streams out and it puts the puck underneath, softening the noodle. Learning to open the seasoning and soup base packets. Or a used panty vending machine introducing modern day undergarments to a fantasy world. Or a gacha vending machine that spurs the development of gambling addictions in an otherwise peaceful world. Or how about a popcorn vending machine which starts popping, scaring people into thinking it's a weapon, and they call it the Ultima Weapon.

How much is Mitsubishi paying them for this product placement? I know that the name used in Chapter 1 was a bit different, as is the car model name "Outrunner" but the show the Mitsubishi logo unaltered often enough and there is a PHEV Outlander in their product lines.

There's no way this isn't some stealth ad to try and sell some unnecessary SUVs/crossovers in a Japanese market that barely needs cars of that type.

If it's not an ad then that means that weirdly specific Japanese Otaku fanboyism has reached critical mass if we have people gushing about a specific model of current non-luxury car enough to write an entire manga about it.

Next week: My Hyundai Genesis was supposed to be the villain but its lease was broken by the 3rd prince and now it lives a slow life driving seaside highways in another world!

ppl say this aint new idea... Maybe not. But who cares? Don't like it, don't read it. Same goes to ppl who say "isekai is genre that needs to die", despite most likely not even reading it.
Also, product placement is the author's thing. If it bothers you that much, then guess what? Don't read it.

I for one will be waiting for more updates, it seems interesting...

we have already seen honda with that super cub manga/anime
why is it a surprise that mitsubishi is doing the same?

Not someone as a vending machine, but a vending machine is sent to another world and is worshipped as a magical artifact or god by the inhabitants.

The good thing with getting 1000's of [ISEKAI] is we get to choose which has better art.

... like Finding Avalon.

Hybrid cars suck ass. They can't do either right
you are right. For our world. For another world hybrid is good choice, since you can go silent with electric mode when needed, or just scare others with gasoline mode. Plus over there most important thing would be charging/fuelling, electricity is easier to generate than processed fuel.

Ofc that's another world tho, in our world hybrid is shit (better than full ev, but still shit)

In theory he can do daily driving on electricity from solar panels, saving the gasoline for emergencies when he needs to drive long distances. Unfortunately there are two problems with this.

  • The amount of solar panels you can put on a car can only generate enough energy to move an EV or PHEV about 5 miles per day. Granted, you can leave the car parked several days and only drive it once in a while. Or bring a huge bank of extra solar panels and plug it in. But the mobility from only rooftop solar panels is pretty restrictive.
  • Gasoline degrades over time. Unless you've added stabilizers, after about a year it's pretty much won't run an engine anymore (its combustion characteristics have changed too much). A lot of zombie apocalypse shows make this mistake too. Technically you can keep it indefinitely if you isolate it from the air. But because of how much it vaporizes with changes in temperature, nearly all fuel tanks and fuel cans have a vent hole to equalize pressure. So unless you've stocked up on stabilizers beforehand, you're only looking at about a year of usability. Diesel is a better option. It's more like vegetable oil and can last 5+ years (unless algae starts growing in it).
The best thing about a hybrid in our world is that it lets you avoid running the ICE motor in inefficient states (e.g. starting from a dead stop). The peak efficiency band of an electric motor is much broader than an ICE motor. So you can use the electric motor to move the car in situations where the ICE would burn a lot of fuel for little effect. Combined with regenerative braking (though that only recovers about 30%-35% of the energy), that's why hybrids get much better mileage ratings than a pure ICE. Starting from a dead stop is especially brutal for ICE motors.
