So he maybe not average student of his age, but his actions very normal in curent situation. He just protect himself using all what he can. Some one who think about "they intelligent creatures too" when that "intelligent creatures" try to kill him much more crazy then MC. Your life goes first.

What Bro is doing is literally just MMA, incorporating the best parts of different martial arts. Also MMA has found that there are nowhere near 16 valid martial arts. Anything magical or spiritual or likes to have moves based on animals is complete bullshit. There was a Chinese MMA fighter who got into trouble with the government because he kept fraud checking Kung Fu and Tai Chi masters.

Wrestling, Mauy Thai, Jiu Jitsu, boxing, kickboxing, Judo, and taekwondo are all good, but those first 4 are 90% of MMA. Karate is kind of ok, but the kind of Karate that is taught to ten year olds in a strip mall is bullshit. It has some unusual kicks that can be worth using, but Karate isn’t that good. Some really good fighters have been able to incorporate a bit of Karate into their fighting style. Back In the day when Conor McGregor was beating everyone he used a very wide Karate stance, but he doesn’t fight like that anymore.
