I mean, sure. If this wasn't like a dozen other isekai that use the same damn names. It just gives the impression that Japanese people just don't care about pet names at all. They give them the most basic name just to have something to call it.

It fits though, most Asian named their pet with really easy to remember and short, simple name, like how in my country a black colored dog would be named "Ink" 70% of the time (it'd be 90% if it was like 10 years ago), some even name their pet "Su", "Lil Sis/Bro", "Milk", etc based on their fur color, how they act the first time or just what food they like.
