Lmao funny you say that since its actually more banned in most us states than most of the world, europe, asia and africa have few restrictions on first cousin marriage, the ones that do outside of the us can be counted on one hand, and ironically, most are under dictatorships.

As for cousin marriage, it's not too uncommon in japan, while not extremely common like in africa and the middle east, it's still somewhat common, but uncommon enough to rarely cause health problems (first cousin marriage isn't really dangerous for the child, as long as it isn't multi-generational in a row, which eventually makes someone genetically close enough to their cousins as they are to siblings).

From what I see, Liserina is just a rival of Maguerite and probably an older/little sister of Selina's mother, and I'm not an expert when it comes to family trees, but from what I understand, the mother of Maguerite and father of Selina is the fraternal twin of Xena, so yeah, Bard is the second cousin of Selina

So, Xena have two childrens, Dahlia and Brad. Dahlia has a daugther, Marguerite/Maggot ; Brat has two daughters, Liselina and Lilia. Then Maggot had Bard and Lilia has Selina.

So Maggot and Lilia are Cousins; Bard and Selina are 2nd Cousins.

Also Bard and Silk are probably some blood related because Bard Grandfather was the King Umberto Tristovy

Here it's illegal to marry between :

• parents + children (even if adopted)
• grandparents + grandchild
• brother / sister + brother / sister (even if adopted)

It's possible to marry (a judge have to give the ok) :

• uncle / aunt + nephew / niece
• Father in law / Mother in law + Son in law / Daughter in law
• stepparents + stepchild (even if adopted)
• Brother/Sister in law + Brother/Sister in law
