Can't help but feel Sora just suffered from a sudden rush of shit to the brain. First two shots to the chest didn't penetrate? Let's empty the clip for no effect then rush in like a berserker with our sword... he didn't even bother attempting to hit it's vitals. With each successive center mass shot proving its resistance, one would expect he would try to aim for something different.

That being said, why is he so desperate? His only goal was distracting the orks so the others could rescue what's left of the kidnapped villagers. Sure killing them would be a huge bonus, but if his best attack isn't good enough, just use your walking stamina skill to lead horny Mc Orkface on a merry chase till the others make their way back to the village. Rather then that, he just stupidly rushes a superior creature with a sword...

As for sword art I mostly agree with you as he's been traing so a simple sword move like a slash should not need to use system skill for

Its a set movement of a slash, in exchange for it being a set movement there is a damage multiplier.

Thats like at max a 10 meter distance shot, plus the target is very bulky and large. They also are noted as slow and lumbering. They plant themselves rather heavily to make use of their size and strength and made no attempt to be evasive as they didn't recognize the threat. Its hardly navy seal level shooting. He takes practicing seriously so he would practice shooting. And while no direct skill affects it raw stats like dex, luck would, as well as skills like parallel thought. And notice that a further target he aimed at the body and didn't hit center at all, that seems rather reasonable level of skill.

Sword Art; Sword Slash: Swinging a sword is not a skill, it's the intended use.
Gotta love authors who complicate things when there's no need to do so lol. Good to see Sora actually use his gun finally, and especially good to see that he can't just kill the horny orc with it.

I mean, most of the times in such stories "skills" are just, well, skills, that are used without learning them "the hard way". Whether the "hard way" exists in the world or not, is another story
