I would believe it if someone told me the author is a huge medicie otaku (?), like every other aspect of the story seems to have little thought put on, we don't see Falmas trying to be more approachable and hell sometimes he forgets he's in another world saying things like "it's official name is" , also I don't know economics much but how does a guild that's free to join offer training etc. is profitable?
Well I will keep enjoying this series as more benign spin on the whole power fantasy genre where instead of the protagonist getting a harem the world gets a little better

Trust me when I say drinking water is better with at least some stuff dissolved in it. Distilled water is just a weird experience all round.

No, I can't say as I have ever encountered anything like that, as it isn't that difficult to prepare water with an unnaturally high degree of purity. Also there is basically no benefit to drinking it. In fact drinking water that is too pure can be harmful, somewhat.

If I were to take a guess. The way it becomes profitable would be that right now its propped up by his two stores putting out a lot of money. Later it becomes profitable on its own by making the courses and teaching cost money when Falma himself is not the only teacher basically, basically just getting people to join it for now by making it free in order to effect change, and making it more costly once its actually been established and becomes a solid thing backed up by its members. But we'll probably never see that in this, I figure most changes that increase prices would happen either after Falma's an adult or after he passes away and the ability to make most his goods for free goes away and they need to rely on normal production. And by then he'll probably have changed the living standards of the entire world.
