If you read it blind sure there are no 'tropes' here, all his works literally follow the same formula to the point that most people here knows he's gonna force some sort of random train crash just to increase the length of the series and the childhood friend character is destined to get hurt because he still lives in the 2000s where they can never have a good ending.
I don't know about you but I'm here to see that trainwreck. I can't expect any manga to give me a good/satisfying ending, but Sasuga Kei has been pretty good in the past about giving me something interesting to read getting there.
