Binged all the recently uploaded chapters and it does seem like the author is trying to give each of the girls their own resolutions and tie up their plot threads, which normally would be a sign that things are headed for the logical conclusion but this is Sasuga Kei so I know she's going to fuck up his current relationship and shit is just going to spiral downwards from there. Plus Tsubasa and Lily still gotta get their shit figured out as well.

Tsubasa time! It's good that she's realizing she's not that serious about her boyfriend. Well, not good for her boyfriend, and the breakup will fuck her shit up too. But good for me! #TeamTsubasa.

Anxious for Nonoka, who is anxious for herself since her last relationship was with a low-effort deadbeat cheater. Of course she's feeling gun shy. And Hiromi's sharehouse mates give her plenty to feel anxious about. Plus the distance. Yeah, they've been doomed from the start. Which is too bad, she's a nice lady, and it's not like Hiromi has done anything wrong. You just can't build a house on a pit full of dynamite.

Anju really went from best girl to bottom of the share house after this set of chapters. Her personal growth was good but she had no business poisoning Hiromi’s relationship like she did. It was selfish and cruel. Then she has the gall to drag him into the shit with her mom. Anju was happy to let Hiromi defend her against her own mother while knowing that she‘d stabbed him in the fucking back a couple of days earlier.

It’s also bullshit that everyone in the share house knows about what Anju did and nobody told Hiromi about it. They claim to be his friend, or even love him, but now he’s just going to get blindsided and dumped AGAIN. I hope to god Hiromi is told what Anju said when he gets dumped, because Anju should not get away with that two-faced behaviour. Maybe finding out that everyone knew but him will be enough to finally get him away from that house.

Seriously, if he’s going to keep getting fucked like this by the women in the house he should at least also be getting laid.

I think he should have just shacked up with his friend who ran the inn and became a step-dad working in their kitchen. All these other women are cutting him to pieces.

So:
  • Lily was the first to have her arc, and it sort of got its conclusion
  • Mio arc wrapped up quickly
  • Anju had a pretty long wrap-up
  • Hiromi's current girlfriend (whose name I never remember) is very likely getting dumped SOON™
Then the most likely winning heroines are either Tsubasa, who is closest to Hiromi's age, a fan favorite and never had a proper wrap-up to her arc, or Yukari, who has been almost exclusively a support character... Or a dark horse Lily, though I doubt it.

I'd say current chances are
  • 70% Tsubasa
  • 20% Yukari
  • 10% Lily

considering this author, aint no way it's gonna end all cut and dry. after tsubasa and maybe yukari get their arcs 90% chances things will start getting even more heavy and dark. my bet on a dark part atm will be hiromi getting someone pregnant and them aborting behind his back, miscarage that destorys the relationship, or alternatively losing custody of the kid. this author has a habit of hitting the characters where they will hurt most.

Binged all the new chs. So far it does feel like everyone is getting their respective loose ends tied up, but considering this is Kei...im not expecting it to end like this. I feel more than anything this was more just a prologue before things get even messier (tho who knows maybe it wont) I kinda expect the Lily relationship to get revealed to the other housemates and have that be a point of contention again as well. I do surprisingly agree with Anju's take on Nodokas and Harumi's relationship, even during the shower she was wondering if she was needed and as the others have mentioned Harumi is someone who seems fairly independent outside of wanting a family I do think that might probably cause some friction in the long term.

That Kaito guy looks awfully familiar, like I've seen him somewhere before. Perhaps in a similar Domestic setting, with his own share of Girlfriend problems. I just can't put my finger on it. :thonk:

90% he's left alone and maybe finds someone completely different like 10 years later post time skip
10% everyone dies in a car crash

It doesn't really feel to me like the series is wrapping up. I think viewing the central question as "which girl wins" is really selling it short. More than anything, I think this series is asking the question "what does 'a happy home' actually mean, beyond fairy-tale notions of whirlwind romance and marriage?" The title is deliberate: it's not about sleeping together or mutual euphoria. It's about the dirty, messy, complicated reality of living together with other people. Each of the six main characters is having (or has already had, in the case of Yukari) their ideas of happiness and success dismantled and interrogated.

To my mind, the important question the story is leading to isn't "who is Hiromi's eventual wife?" but rather "how do each of these people need to mature to find their own definition of happiness?"

You are reading a Sasuga Kei manga. Your headcanon is so out of the realm of what she could actually write that it stopped being funny half way through and became sad. People should really stop attributing way over the top writing insight to those with zero talent, let alone a drama slop mangaka.
