It's because she's an idol. Idols aren't even allowed to have boyfriends because it "could break the illusion that they could end up with one of their fans". So it's not about what he wants (to be a house husband) and more about her carrier.

She's an idol, that's the problem lol. If she was an actress it wouldn't be as big of a deal, or a singer, but idol? Being caught with a BF/Husband or even just being near a boy too much is real bad for their career.
Actually even for actresses and singers it can be bad depending on what it is...don't forget Aya Hirano was on top of the world and ruined her career almost because she slept with everyone in her band (except the bassist)
