honestly surprised she cared enough about a random stranger to clear up the misunderstanding. this is the same lady that tried to bribe a guy after food poisoning them??

Can’t believe people started disliking Watamote once it’s was developing into healthy behavior, maturity, and friendships.

As if this manga is gonna end up being cringey to the very end. Can’t wait for this lady to meet some dude or something that’ll make her happy

Well, at least she didn't leave that guy out to suffer in her stead like I imagined. Good on you, Itai.

@justforthelulz I was genuinely hoping for a surprise yaoi end, but no. Itai-san wa itai.
@dojinshi I did not appreciate that appropriately mediocre level of character development. Fair point.
@tfwnosuccubusgf @SuperOniichan Watamote has never been a CGDCT, it just went from being comical misery about a girl spiralling into depression, to a surprisingly rounded story about how appreciating that others are losers too makes your own lack of confidence not so bad. The state of that manga right now is better than ever if you ask me; all the supporting cast have their own personality and agendas, and Tomoko is the same as ever just without her guard up so hard. If the story had remained as it was, it would have been a story about how Tomoko became hikikomori and killed herself.
Didn't mean to rant, I'm just a bit of a fan of how WataMote progressed and I think you should reconsider.

@gronkle You can justify it as much as you want and come up with false dilemmas for this, but now the manga is just another CGDCT, only with a more unusual MC. Ironically, Tomoko herself once mocked such titles.

@SuperOniichan I don't think I'm making a false dilemma, I was following a logical conclusion as far as I'm concerned.
I would recommend reconsidering you assessment, have a binge read without preconception. I don't think the internal Tomoko has changed much and neither has her appeal as a character, the source of change is in her approach to others due to becoming less afraid of being weird. The change is gradual, and affects the characters she ends up associating with.
On the other hand, if you're never going to be interested in a story about girls being friends, even when the state of being friends is tenuous and never explicit, I get that you're not gonna be into it. I only bring it up because I have enjoyed the shift towards a redemption arc so much, and I think others dropped it too soon.
