Maybe it's just me but I don't think it should count as "real" NTR if he's not dating the girl to begin with, cause then it's just "my crush doesn't like me back" and not "my girlfriend got stolen from me." Plus as we saw here the former can lead to good development as he accepts that he should move on and find a new crush.

ik this is only tangential to what happened this chapter, but i gotta say the plot development has been so peak. Nozomu constantly mistook Sou's use of the word "love" as "romantic love", and then the moment he realizes she meant "familial love", Sou becomes aware of a "romantic love" instead, simultaneously flipping the script and once again causing both to miss the mark on each other. Keep cooking, author.

Of course, technically it shouldn't, but inr reality a lot of NTR manga don't have them dating, just a guy who has a crush on someone, then not coming out on time and then losing his love.
Hell a lot of NTR isn't even losing your GF/Wife but losing your Mother/Sister.
