it's because they are the maniac pixie dream girl troupe and it's offshoots. The whole point of those stories is that the mc has something wrong with their life and he's too passive to fix it without intervention from some attractive woman. This one's kinda the opposite though, it seems like the MC is the active one intervening in his dream girls life to fix her problems.

Yup, a serious issue indeed. While excessive desire is problematic, not having any kind of desires is just as bad, if not worse. And it's not helping that she really can't say no to anyone. Easily exploitable... Darn, I feel bad for her already. I hope the MC makes her happy enough.

If that was the case, you could be called alpha for running around with prostitutes or raping people. All the things that you say make him less of a beta make him an actual alpha. On the other hand, those others you called alpha are nothing but little boys who needed an easy target just to mate. An alpha should look to quality not mere quantity.

I doubt you'd see these alpha and beta definitions used in any serious, or even semi-serious, human studies or discussions. So, keeping that in mind, we should go by what they are supposed to mean, regardless of if they have much actual meaning or worth in reality. Not that this would be reality since this is a manga. The MC dude is kind of timid and shy, not pushy, so it's difficult to view him as alpha. I reckon he's doing as well as he is due to the girl being like that. Imagine that dude with a strong, vocal, decisive girl, and he would probably get pushed around a lot. Just like in the first chapter a random classmate made him do her job, and he could only complain in his thoughts.
