i think it would have been better if his virus infections worked more like a hivemind, giving him the ability to manipulate, directly control, activate various infections as he can now, or just observe through those he infects, and i think it would more interesting if his infections spread was not as fast as it is.

Its not very good. Despite being a "virus" his attention is almost always exclusively focused on one host, and the story is built around him aiming for increasingly human-like hosts... Completely destroying the point of making him a virus. At this point two-thirds of the series has been him using the same host and just acting as an individual.

It's really just another skill-stealing Isekai, but with far less originality or charm than big names like Slime and Kumo.

So anyone who's still waiting years for the ending, here's what I can tell you from what I've gathered.

• The story is complete, just not in manga form. If you want the ending, read the Light Novel, it's all translated.

• Volume 3 of the manga has been done for a long time and has just a small part left of the story was left out of volume 3. So not even enough for half a volume 4.

• The Manga artist has done work after this series, so it's not that the series isn't physically capable of being finished (i.e. artist died/got sick or the writer died/got sick before finishing.) so something must've happened behind the scenes to prevent the last couple of chapters to get finished.

If you like the artist and want more isekai fantasy, they got more for you. Want more of this writer, Fell off the face of the earth after this series so ya got nothin'. Want more virus isekai, either this series or a new one, well uhh... idk find a fanfic writer. (and do tell me about it I wanna see more like this)

especially when they turned takopi on anime despite it's very short length...
but then again, syosetu doesn't host LN but WN (generally as LN draft and ad), if author made and sold LN, it may have more chapters than in WN...

I enjoy the draft aspect. It's interesting to see the original concept before everything gets refined. Sometimes you come across some incredible stuff that's almost guaranteed to be removed from the polished product.

I just started reading the WN on Syosetu, and got to the sister's intro... and WOW... the WN is way spicier than the manga. And not by a little.
